New Buddha Way celebrates the two main international Buddhist festivals. One is Vesak, which takes place in May and is the principal annual celebration of 'Southern Buddhism' (Theravada) and the other is Bodhi Day, which takes place in December and is the principal annual celebration of 'Northern Buddhism' (Mahayana).
The last festival was:
Bodhi Day (Mahayana), Sunday 26th November 2017, in Ottershaw. This celebrated the Buddha's 'awakening'.
The next festival will be:
Wesak (Theravada), Sunday 20th May 2018, in Ottershaw. This celebrates the Buddha's birth and life.
